The Rainbow’s End
30×24
oil/board
Exotic birds are exciting to paint. I am challenged by their irredesent plummage and bright colors. The parrot’s coloration matches this antique Chinese vase perfectly. This is a very eye pleasing painting due to the careful use of complimentary and secondary colors. The parrot seems to have found his own little ’pot of gold’ at the end of the rainbow, hence the name!

This is a beautiful painting. You captured the coloration and made it live. Made me a bit nervous though…I am used to things being tipped over when a parrot takes flight and that is such a beautiful vase.
Haha, Ron. I guess that painting got some kind of reaction from you…thus the point to it all! Thanks for the feedback. Luckily the vase is sturdy and the parrot is in my imagination.
Cheers,
Lori
