These famous beaver ponds are a few miles outside of Sun Valley, Idaho. It is a favorite wildlife viewing spot for locals and visitors alike. Recently, I saw a female moose wallowing in the ponds. I chose to paint this scene without any wildlife to leave that up the imagination of the viewer.
This painting depicts an absolutley beautiful day. The spring storms were lifting and some bright sunlight was filtering through the clouds. The willows still hadn’t changed to their green summer color, so the colors were very vibrant.

Hi Lori,
This is truly amazing! It reminds me of so many different hikes my wife and I have been on. You’ve captured the color, depth and atmosphere of a mountain valley and ponds perfectly. Having only seen your still life’s I’m blown away. Yet another reason why your an example and hero to many!

Hi Lisa, I just wanted to thank you for not just the chance to view your amazing work, but also to study your knowledge & theories, what a gift to other artists!
I am treading into oil painting under Andy Braitman, and there is much to ‘unlearn’ from a background in photography and watercolor/drawing.
You are a true blessing! ~ Sally Weller
