Aren’t the waxwings the sweetest things? If ever faced with the daunting task of choosing a favorite bird, they’d be in the top five. One snowy, winter afternoon I witnessed a flock of cedar waxwings feasting on a grove of crab apple trees. That year, much of the fruit remained on the branches, shriveled and dried…making a perfect midday snack!
