Hummingbird & Daisy
12×12
oil and mixed media on board
Hummingbirds are my favorite birds. When I was a young girl, I would help nurse injured birds back to health, and then I returned them to the wild. Sometimes, I needed the help of the ‘bird lady’. She had a ‘pet’ hummingbird. The little fellow was unable to use one of his wings, so during the day she kept him in a bouquet of flowers in her living-room. This event inspired my still life paintings with birds.

I love this painting! It’s just beautiful.
Hi Barbara, I am so glad you like this little painting. It is a new theme for me.

Thank you. Do you have hummingbirds near you?
Did I thank you already? I am so behind on comments, I know I answered you once already…sorry if I am repeating myself. It is great to see you here again, and I really am happy you like this new texture. It’s fun to do!
Thank you Robin, it has more texture than I usually paint, so I am glad you like it!
